About me
Nanea is a Maui native and a graduate of Hāna High & Elementary School. A trained storyteller, she studied journalism at Hawai‘i Pacific University and spent 12 years as a reporter before joining HIDOE’s communications team in 2018. She now leads efforts to connect Hawai‘i's public school system with the community — informing, engaging, and educating the public by highlighting student success and advancing HIDOE’s mission, goals, and impact.
